Prewar Nerf Setup and Preperation-
Its time for that big war, and you have all of your guns ready to go.  One thing that most newer nerfers forget is that Nerfing isn't just about modifying your guns until they are ½ PVC, ¼ Hot Glue, and ¼ Plastic.  When you finish modifying your gun to the extent that you think you are done, you need to play with your gun.  Take it outside and set up and shoot down some targets.  Take the gun and your side arms, and load up like you would at the war, and run around in your backyard and get a feel to how you will run, how you will reload, how you will draw, and even practice unloading into a human sized target.  Fire each gun about 50-100 times (not dry firing) to see if the gun can take the pressure and firing.  Finally, open up each gun that you will be using, and see if there is any damage to the internals after all of these rigorous tests.  Seal each gun up and re-hot glue and tape up everything, just in case.  Pack up your guns carefully and wrap them in bubble wrap and newspaper just to insure nothing gets broken.  Throw in your hot glue gun and many rolls of tape and a pair of scissors, just in case a barrel breaks or your hot glue melts.  If you have two hot glue guns good for you, about a week before you leave for the war, go and buy about 2-3 bags of foam backer rod and make that many darts, wars are dart killers.
Once you get to the place where the war will take place or your hotel room or whatever, set out what clothes you will wear.  Also the day before check on all of your guns again, if they break, you might as well be going out there with a stick.  I would transport my guns in a padded cooler, so that the hot glue doesn't melt, and so that the rattling doesn't break anything on the guns.  If you can drive to the war location early and check the place out if you haven't been there before.  Once again, if you can log onto the forums and look at that wars planning thread.  If there is a backup location check that place out too.  One thing that you should do before each war is get the phone number of whoever is planning the war, just in case you got lost, or the location changed without you knowing it.
This is not a mislim sport.  Do not take it seriously in anyway.  Just go out there and have fun.  If anyone asks you to cover them while reloading, do it, they will repay the favor later.  If someone is planning a rush, join it, unless you are a long range player.  Take all shots you can, and, by no mean cheat!  If you see someone coming and no one else sees him/her tell someone else.  I may have been a noob at Armageddon, but even then I was telling Groove, ShatteredDreams, and CXWQ to cover me and stuff like that.  When you get there, try to be as nice as possible and introduce yourself to anyone you don't know.  If someone needs darts volunteer yours.  Just be nice, and don't go spewing cuss words, unless there is a reason, like bleeding from a gun tap, that just sucks.  Don't give verbal whiplash to anyone, not even for a head shot that broke your safety goggles.  Just get over it, its just a game.  And now that my ranting is over, have fun!
